Apple Harvest Calculator
A decision support system designed to evaluate and optimize the adoption of mechanized platforms in apple harvesting. Developed as part of a 2020–2023 research project funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (Office of the Chief Scientist) and the Plants Production & Marketing Board, this tool helps growers increase yields, reduce fruit damage, and analyze labor efficiency and costs.
Mejhoul Thinning Management Decision-Support System
A database-driven decision-support system designed to optimize the date thinning process for Medjool growers. Developed between 2021 and 2024 with funding from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (Office of the Chief Scientist), this tool utilizes a co-design approach to deliver tailored, human-centered solutions for niche agriculture.
Tomato Crop Research Data Repository
A centralized research data pooling database and user interface designed to aggregate, manage, and display comprehensive cultivation and experimental data from tomato crop trials. Developed as a pivotal component of the "Hetz" (Growing Agriculture) Initiative for the Hevel Tekuma region, the system standardizes data collection from South R&D and various trial sites to optimize agricultural research. The platform features an iterative co-design framework, incorporating continuous feedback from researchers, model farms, and development teams.
Bovine Nose Ring System
A precision livestock farming system developed to continuously monitor dairy cow health and welfare using a wearable nose ring sensor. Developed between 2020 and 2022 as part of a Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security funded research project (Office of the Chief Scientist), the system provides real-time cardiovascular and respiratory monitoring, enabling early detection of health conditions and supporting data-driven herd management.
